NRL Round 10 Review

Round 10 Wrap-Up: Comebacks Galore, Golden Point Drama and a Storm Surge

Round 10 of the NRL delivered one of the most dramatic weekends of the season so far — packed with wild comebacks, clutch moments, and a scoreline that couldn’t be separated even after 90 minutes. From teams flipping deficits into wins, to a demolition job in Melbourne, the Women in League Round had just about everything.

Dolphins Hold Off Eels in Tight Finish:

The round began with a tense affair at CommBank Stadium, where the Dolphins edged the Eels 20-16. Both sides crossed for three tries each, but Jamayne Isaako’s sharp kicking proved the difference. It was a game of small margins, and the Dolphins did just enough to walk away with the win.

Titans Start the Comeback Trend:

The first major comeback of the weekend came in Newcastle. The Knights led 20-6 at halftime and looked in control — until the Titans roared back to life. A second-half blitz saw them claw their way back, with AJ Brimson sealing a stunning 24-20 win in the dying stages. It was a sign of things to come.

Latrell Leads Rabbitohs in Epic Turnaround:

South Sydney trailed 14-0 at halftime against the Broncos but flipped the game on its head in the second half. Latrell Mitchell starred, nailing a booming 2-point field goal from halfway to snatch the lead late, then putting the icing on the cake with a try on the siren. The Rabbitohs ran out 22-14 winners in a match that will be remembered for its momentum swing.

Bulldogs Storm Back Against Raiders:

The biggest comeback of the round — and one of the season — came in Canberra. The Raiders led 20-0 at halftime in a top-of-the-table showdown, but the Bulldogs produced a second-half masterclass to score 32 unanswered points. What looked like a Canberra statement win turned into a 32-20 Bulldogs demolition. The comeback trend continued in brutal fashion.

Warriors Hang On as Dragons Nearly Join the Club:

After leading 14-4 at the break, the Warriors looked like they’d avoid the comeback curse — but the Dragons weren’t far off flipping the script. A late charge saw the gap close to one before Luke Metcalf slotted a cool-headed field goal and the Warriors dug in defensively to hold on for a gritty 15-14 win.

Panthers and Cowboys Battle to a Deadlock:

In Townsville, the comeback theme came with a twist — a golden point thriller that ended in a 30-30 draw. Both teams traded tries in a see-sawing contest, with flawless goal-kicking from Nathan Cleary and Scott Drinkwater keeping things locked up. Even after 90 minutes, nothing could split them in one of the games of the year.

Storm Obliterate Tigers in Complete Mismatch:

Amid all the chaos elsewhere, the Melbourne Storm reminded everyone what dominance looks like. They crushed the Tigers 64-0 in a one-sided affair at AAMI Park. Ryan Papenhuyzen was unstoppable, scoring four tries and slotting 10 goals in a near-perfect individual performance. The only thing missing was any drama — the result was never in doubt.

Sharks Get Back on Track at Brookvale:

The round wrapped up with the Sharks bouncing back from recent struggles, defeating Manly 30-14 at 4 Pines Park. It took until the second half for the Sea Eagles to register points, while Ronaldo Mulitalo’s double helped the Sharks control the match throughout and secure a much-needed win.

Final Word:

Comebacks were the theme of Round 10 — and plenty of teams will be reviewing their second-half efforts with frustration or pride. Whether it was the Titans, Rabbitohs, or Bulldogs storming home, or the Cowboys and Panthers refusing to give an inch, it was a weekend that showcased rugby league at its unpredictable best.
